my key can unlock and lock the door, but inside the car there is no lock or unlock button. perhaps thats what confused you.

no, but onstar can cut the power down, but its a fully functioning vehicle. they probably dont want to cause an accident. onstar can also give me gps directions, order my pizza, and suck my penis.

did i mention i still have crank windows?

when my car's fuel pump went and i coasted to a stop i hit the button and ask the operator if the police told her to shut me off. After a pause she asked if i was being followed by police. I replied, "how can i be followed if i am no longer moving.."

I had to press the button again after that.

oh, btw you have to pay a lot extra for those features.

so when you call onstar are they coming out to put a key in your door?

you have plungers in the tops of the doors, no power locks. they can not do it.

i know on my key, its like a VW, it has the unlock and lock buttons on it. so thus, it has power lock and unlock doors. so, yes they can.

Re: How much $ do you have into your ride?

OnStar is a joke when it comes to a car that shuts down on it's own. My wife remote-started her HHR with one of the doors open. Then she shuts the door, presses the unlock button, opens the door, and the car freaks out probably thinking that it's being stolen and shuts everything down. Power locks don't work (you can still manually pull the knob up and get out), power windows don't work, key doesn't turn the starter over... The only thing that works is onstar to call them and find out what's up. We call them just to hear again and again, "I'm sorry, but I can't run diagnostics on your car when the engine is not running"... "I know it's not running, ma'am, it shut itself off"... well, can you start it? "No, I can't, can you guys unblock the security system?... pause "we can't diagnose what's wrong with it with the engine off... we can have it towed to the nearest Chevrolet dealer or we can just transfer you to their tech department"... so they did.

Some girl picks up.... I told her the same exact story about what just happened and at the end asked "can you guys walk me through unblocking the security system?"... "sir, what lights come on when you turn the key?" "the usual, airbag light, check engine light, ABS light, and now the security (padlock) light stays on too"... "check engine light and ABS lights are on... I think something is wrong with your brakes, sir! =D> =D> "REALLY?".... "So can you walk me through unblocking the security system then????!!"

"The only thing we can do for you, sir, is have it towed to our dealership's service department"... "and what will they do? can you walk me through the steps?"... "I'm sorry sir, at this point the only thing you can do is have it towed here, would you like us to call the towing company?"... "No, thanks, i will take care of it"...

Took the leads off the battery, touched them to each other... left them off for 30 minutes - and when I put them back on it worked as well as new.. just had to reset my stations and set up my equializer...

I don't see a reason to pay them for that kind of service...
