i also used to call onstar to have them unlock my doors. i have a SVM with manual locks. But it IS what they advertise on tv, and it is what the dealership use to "sell" me on onstar, not that i could buy a car without it.. but they were like its great, it do this and that...

As a side funny, is anyone here old enough to remember "Kentucky Fried Movie"? They had a funny scene where a couple were making out on the sofa, in front of the tv... and then you saw the whole news crew crowding together on the screen, watching the couple. Pretty funny at the time.

I saw that as a double header with Airplane ( I think I was 12). What an awesome movie! Normburns has my respect by bringing up a KFM reference. Now we can tie that with Grovetube we would be set.

No, I just find it funny that the guy in the first article acted like it was a big secret that the government can hack into Onstar and eavesdrop on anyone with that unit in their vehicle. And even if you didn't have it, they could just go & throw a good old GPS tracking system on the car & bug it, like in the second article.

Just saying, if you think you'll get 100% privacy these days, you are crazy! Rabbit has it right about the privacy thing. And some people accept that, while others... others go on a paranoid rampage. There are better ways to take care of it rather than cry that your rights are being violated. You could do your damnedest to have a 110% private conversation with someone instead. But even a face to face could have people listening to the conversation that you didn't want to. And I accept that. Not really much I can do about it. I only posted this article, because I almost died laughing at what I believe to be stating the obvious. And to me, the guy comes off as an idiot.

i tried, i was going to use an earlier dome light and eliminate it. But anywhere i unplugged the system turned on my airbag lights, so i couldnt be sure they would go off.
