where is that?? in pittsburgh, emissions is as hard as CA, every year emissions test, and we don't have the 15 year cut off like they do.. (it tapers off to 25.. but gets easier after 15..

its kind ironic that california is so hard yet there are tons of tuners and shops out there
thats because of carb exempt parts.. plus nice highways / weather and 15 yo exemption.
Ontario, Canada, as soon as the car is 5 years or older you need a test every year, my car just reached the 5 year mark so i had to go and pay someone to tell me that my car runs perfic (the dump ass kept reving my engine pulling in to the shop caz he liked how the exaust sounded)Originally Posted by petrified.rabbit

Just because a car is tuned, doesn't mean it has to be dirty. I could legally pass my Subaru, even with the turbo, engine swap etc...
yea i was talking more about swaps and their rules...i heard ceratin things are a pain
thats why most test only facilities can be bribed into passing your car
cant get away with that around here..
if it doesnt pass, you have to pay to fix it so it does, and it is basically if you are obd2 and dont have a check engine light, so mod are ok, but if it throws a code, or remove any emissions equipment, they wont pass you.

it's not as bad as it sounds.......... actually it's every 2 years here in ontario !!
if the last digit of the year of your car is even...... you are due on odd years and vice versa.... example a 2003.... need tested 2008.2010.2012 etc etc...
