Re: Contest: win $150 in Aveo aftermarket parts or a ScanGau
We decided on the end date: the last Friday of April (the 30th).
I updated the first post with these details:
-- The winner will be drawn from all posts in the forum from March 15th to April 30th. Meaning: more active members will have better odds.
-- If the winner chooses the $150 Aveo parts prize, they'll receive a credit to the vendor of their choice (from our list of vendors).
We've been in touch with a handful so far, and have had a positive response from a couple - still waiting to hear back from the others.
More details about vendors to come in the next week or so.

Read my post in the FE section about Chevy's lousy programming of the TCM. If you want better performance from your car, you need to write to Chevy and kick their ass (complain) about how they programmed a reasonably good 4 speed transmission to perform poorly by having the shift points all wrong.
Re: Contest: win $150 in Aveo aftermarket parts or a ScanGau
Cool and yes the shifting is very lousy...
unless i step on the gas pedal i wont reach 3k rpm witout it shifting to 2nd gear,
then 2 seconds later it shifts into 3rd
Re: Contest: win $150 in Aveo aftermarket parts or a ScanGau
Sounds like you guys are unhappy about opposing "problems" that could be fixed by either (a) an "econ/normal/sport" button, or (b) adaptive shift logic.
Re: Contest: win $150 in Aveo aftermarket parts or a ScanGau
i think shifting should be driver controlled..
Re: Contest: win $150 in Aveo aftermarket parts or a ScanGau
I agree Rabbit (I know Darin does too). However, the majority of our lazy American culture seems to think that shifting is too much work for them... bleh.
Re: Contest: win $150 in Aveo aftermarket parts or a ScanGau
Over the past few days we have been working to gather up a few vendors for this giveaway. Here is a list of who we are currently working with and what they offer.
Andy's Auto Sport - body kits, tail lights, projector head lights, intake, lowering springs, and more
AveoClub - Scangauge II
C3 Customs - car audio
Petrified Rabbit - short shifter, rear sway bar
Throwdown Performance - chassis bracing & suspension components
Tire Rack - wheels, tires, suspension components, brake components, and more
We have tried to cover the bases and are still looking for more vendors. So, if you have suggestions we'd be happy to listen.
Re: Contest: win $150 in Aveo aftermarket parts or a ScanGau
Thanks for the update Tim. I've added the list to Post 1.
And no, Rabbit, if you win you don't get to choose $150 worth of parts from yourself. :)
