CONTEST: Christmas is coming early at AveoForum -- win $200 in Ultra Racing gear!

Christmas is coming early this year for a lucky forum member... in the form of an Ultra Racing product worth up to $200!

Hang your lucky Christmas stocking in your Aveo, because on December 23rd you could get to stuff it with your choice of:

- front or rear strut bar
- rear anti-roll bar
- front or rear lower bar

(Basically, the winner gets to pick anything worth up to $200 from the product list we used for our April group buy. See UltraRacing.my for the list of Aveo bars/braces.)

How to win:

It's ridiculously easy: just participate in the forum as usual between now and December 23rd. Each forum post you make until then counts as one "ballot", and the more "ballots" you drop in the box, the better your odds of winning. New posts made in any thread in the forum count.

On the 23rd (11:59 PM EST), we'll draw one qualifying post at random from the forum and will announce our winner.

Restrictions:

Only members who have signed up before today and who already have at least 10 posts before today qualify for the draw.

Refrain from blasting the forum with mostly useless posts (like "what he said!", "+1", etc) just to raise your post count. Normal, useful or informative posts please.

Shipping:

Shipping is included if the winner is in the lower 48 of the U.S.A. Outside of the U.S., the winner will have to cover their own shipping.

The silver lining for the people who are still active is the odds of winning this contest are ridiculously good.

We've got a few improvements to the forum in the works. Not expecting a huge effect on activity, but it'll make the place nicer to use for members who drop by once in a while. More on this later.

Well, I guess it was good that I waited till today to get back to posting.

Free stuff sounds amazing right now, after paying so much to fix Skittles (my Aveo).

I know that I could post more often (it's been a long time since I posted). I do still come here every so often, just to see what everyone else has going on. I haven't really done much to my car since last year when I repainted my center console. Hell, I'm still working on getting my dad to help me get the rear view camera we put on my Aveo to work or just simply put a different camera on it (it'll be 2 years in February since we originally put that damn camera on my car).

This contest is probably the easiest to win you'll enter all year.

In terms of the odds, you can't beat this:

• 474 posts have been made in total since the contest opened.

• But they don't all count! Only posts by members who joined before November 21 and already had at least 10 posts count.

• That means the qualified number of posts is actually closer to 300, and your odds of winning just got better!

So let's do a hypothetical: if the draw were held today and you've posted 10 times since Nov 21, you'd have about 1 in 30 chance of winning. Assuming the same amount of activity holds through to the end of the contest, your odds would stay the same.

Can't beat that!

Interesting tidbit: stats show that 44 forum members have seen this contest thread. Yet our rules don't explicitly say that the winner has to be aware of the contest to be picked in the draw... it could be someone's big surprise!

What we're doing is taking the first and last post made during the contest period. We stick those post ID's into a random number generator at RANDOM.ORG - True Random Number Service and out spits our winning poster.

Thanks man, im still in shock! I never win these, but this sure made my Christmas! Now technically MetroMPG won, so im feeling a bit guilty taking the honors of winning. I've gotten sooo much techy help in the few short months since I joined the site, that helped me get both of my Aveo's running great, what a bonus, dang! I can't tell you how thankful I am. Sorry for the long delay, with rain the past few weekends and been I have been so busy with other 'catch-up' projects. First photo reveals a recent distraction. ;) First dry weekend so I had to pull the extra 'sporty' Chevy out of the hangar for a wash.

Anyway here are some sneak peek shots of my awesome prize from the contest, I chose the front shock tower brace. Here she is fresh out of the box. I have not installed it just yet, but very soon I will have some install pics. Just can't say thanks enough to the Ultra Racing folks and the forum staff for hooking me up with this awesome brace. The quality looks top notch!

Nice! I'm liking the "extra sporty" one, and I'm also partial to Spicy Orange ones. I wouldn't know why. xD
