hold lights and engine light

i have a 2005 aveo,the hold and check engine liht comes on and flashes also drl some times blink .i see someone says it maybe the coil ,has anyone tried a new coil nd did it work.i cannot afford to just go around changing random parts

If its the engine light flashing it's a serious issue and you should probably take it to your dealer to scan the code.

Sorry to hear that you're having these issues with your vehicle. I definitely understand your situation. Because I am not a certified mechanic/tech, I am unable to diagnose. I would suggest contacting your Chevy dealership and maybe you can speak with Certified mechanic and explain what to them what you're experiencing. If you would like to private message me the last 8-digits of your VIN#, I could check to see if there are any special coverages or recalls related to the problem you're having with the check engine and hold light flashing.
