Help!! Something is leaking (possibly fuel) not sure what the issue is

Recently noticed a smell in my car which i though was petrol. Having looked today noticed that on the drivers side rear there is a cylinder which seems to be dripping which i believe may be fuel. (it smells of a petrol/terps)

I have been told it could be the air conditioning which may be leaking, although it could also be a fuel cylinder but rather unsure, looking advice before taking it to the garage on Wednesday so i can possibly cost the issue so i know im not getting ripped off!

My car is A Aveo 2009 (15,000 miles on the clock and im the second owner)

      Attached is a picture

It is the fuel filter. You can change it yourself. Replace the rubber hoses and clamps at the same time to prevent leaks.

i can't say from the picture, but it looks like it should be clamped (mounted) to the shield there. Is it moving freely?

make sure it is repaired, it is a huge fire hazard.

ive read online every 40,000 miles or 2 years.

I also read its not usually something which is done as part of a service so bear that in mind.

as mine has now developed into a cracked filter its getting recovered to the garage tomorrow so shall post the cost for future people.

There are service intervals in the manual for cars with a serviceable filter. But depending on your quality of fuel, and such, if the filter is cheap and easily changed, I would do it every 50k. More expensive or hard to access filters I would only do 100k.
