Engine and tranny swap? Possibly convert to RWD?

      Hey,

What's up guys? I've got an 06 Chevrolet Aveo5 SVP. I like it, it's a pretty bomb car but I just need to do a few things.. Make it one of a kind, something of my own, you know? I'm going out west for the winter and coming home with a good chunk of change to invest into the car. I'm thinking a engine and tranny swap, followed by some interior work and a paint job. I'm going to completely re-do the car. So let's get to business...

What are engines are most easily put in for a swap, paired with a tranny? Would I notice a major performance increase? It is pretty fast stock for a 1.6L I find, so I'm thinking upping the power with a engine and tranny swap and doing a cold air, nice turbo going, it'll be a half decent set-up. Someone point me in the right directions...

Another question I've got is how big of a deal is it to convert it to RWD? How much money am I looking at? I think a RWD Aveo would lay some mean strips.

      Thanks guys,
      Brendan

It might be best to just get an old Chevy Chevette or a Pontiac Acadian (T1000 for USA) and drop the Colbalt SS engine in it. The car is RWD, you'll get 260 HP, and the swap is actually quite popular.

It says so on Wikipedia, but they aren't exactly the best source for information.
A lot of people say that the bell housing from a Chevette is very similar to the one used on the Ecotecs.
It doesn't look like too many people completely go through with it, or the ones that have done it don't document the thing online.

      tint costs about $100-200.

AND if you ever priced a drivetrain conversion with the complete chassis change over to rwd, 25k is cheap.
