changing starter

I have a bad starter and am putting in a new one, but I've only just got the old on out.. any tips as for making putting a new one easier than taking out the old one?

Fortunately or unfortunately I haven't had to change the starter on my 2005 Aveo LS so I have no first hand experiences to relay to you.
