Car is hunting on the highway @ around 2500rpm.

2004 Aveo LS Automatic. Ok I am not sure what the actual term is but in the electrical world (generators in specific) when a generator's engine is hunting, the rpms tend to drop the rise then drop then rise...etc but its slightly rapid, say 20 time a minute. my car will start to do this at highway speed when im in the 22-2800 rpm. And just for explanation purposes I have not noticed it at idle while stopped. what throws me off is that Im not getting any check engine lights either. if it helps I put lucas fuel system cleaner in my gas tank ever 3000 miles. Anyone have any explination as to what it could be, or some advise as to what to check first?

I had "surging" issues on the e -way while throttle was not under load. Acter work i hit the gas station n noticed i forgot to tighten the last clamp on my CAI-it ws loose. Long story ahort check intake hose connections, its as good as any other place to start, n we ll see what else chimes in...

Do your lights pulse wit the rise and drop? If so maybe Alternator or voltage regulator but at highway speeds that's new to me.

Nope it still does it. Did get a little more specific detail on when it happens, when im going approx. 65-70 mph and i begin to take the pressure off the pedal to cruize..

I meant when i lifted off the throttle to cruise. If ur intake is loose/ damaved it will be the after sensor section b/c tbat it what will be unmetered. If u checked the i.take I would guess vacuum hose
