What are all the pieces you would need in order to do a swap? My dad is thinking of swapping It because My auto transmission went out and we installed a New one but it still doesn't work so he wants to buy another transmission but since we already have it out he wants to see how much it would cost and what we would need.

Not sure if anyone actually completed this but I entertained the idea but instead swapped my good motor from my 2007 manual LS Sedan into a nice well kept 08 LS with an auto Trans. I didn't swap the trans cause the computer and harness are different (and the CV axles) but everything else seems the same, even the console (just gotta swap the shifters I believe). I have since broken the auto trans while installing the motor and now I don't know if I can swap my 07 harness and comp onto my 08 and go manual and then reflash the comp (because there's no clear cut answer as to if the 07 comp can reflash to an 08 vin). If anyone did this please let me know if there's anything I can do without having a car that can't be inspected because of non matching vins

the vins are not much of an issue. You can have the vins coded. You can't go backwards with emissions though. (not having an 07 i an 08 car.) But since the engine and everything else are the same through the years, I believe you could have a manual engine map put into the automatic ECU. Fairly easy, as the map is the the same. But you would need the install most of the manual harness.
