05 Aveo Camshaft cap bolt issue

Long story short, timing belt split, 14 of 16 valves bent, everything taken apart, cleaned inspected, new parts (gaskets, valves, water pump, pulleys, belts, head bolts, seals...etc.) on hand and in the middle of reassembly camshaft cap bolt snaps. Does anyone know where to get a full set of these bolts, as I have had no luck finding these or any parts suppliers referencing them? This forum has been an amazing reference in the teardown and rebuild so far. Any assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

You'll probably need to buy those from a stealership, where a set of those bolts will hopefully cost less than $100

Just spoke with dealerships in the area. Only one dealership has any in stock (qty. 9). Cost : $2.00 each. They said they can order the rest but it will take about 4 days and the order wouldn't go out til next week

I finally tracked some bolts down through dealerships. If anyone needs the part number for the camshaft cap bolts, here it is: GM 94500901. They come in packs of 10, and you can find them online by tracking that part number.

Hey, thanks for posting that parts website! The ones I've been using aren't as complete as the one you posted - it seems likely to have the same source as what the stealerships use. I now have it bookmarked at the top of the list

Hey Taiger just wondering if you had any piston damage when your belt broke I just finished a complete rebuild on my 2005 aveoand I,ve never seen one break yet that didn't destroy the pistons at least.

wow were you ever lucky !! Mine blew holes in the pistons had to rebuild the whole engine not just the head. Hope there isn't any scratching on the cylinder walls or piston deformity...those impact marks look very close.Good luck

Nice pictures and good luck going back together. BTW, i had left my old oil in the car and once I got it back together I changed the oil and had it filtered though a coffee filter to look for metal. there was none. I advise the same.

Please do not power off, firmware update pending.....
