Fuel pumps and Aveos

I have a 05 Aveo and I'm beginning to notice a pattern at gas pumps. I thought it was just coincidence the first few times it happened, but now I'm not so sure it's the pumps. For some reason, the pump cuts itself off when I set the nozzle in my gas hole (can't think of the name, lol) I'll set the lock so I don't have to hold the handle down and a few seconds later, it'll pop out as if my tank were full. I know it's not though; I typically drive til I'm near empty so when it cuts off at one gallon, and then again at three, and then again at five, and then again at 5.6, etc etc, I know it's not full.

Anyone know why this is? One time the gas didn't shut off and I the gas started overflowing... Now it's shuting off prematurely at almost every station I go to...

the traditional angle of fuel pumps and the aveo's fuel filler are different, and the sensitive back pressure system will kick off the pump very time it feels like the tank is full.

to alleviate the problem pull the nozzle out a little (about an inch) and that will place the end of the nozzle more towards the center of the filler pipe. And sense less back pressure from the gas "bouncing" off the side of the pipe.

I hope you're right, because this post made me think that maybe the forum was being outsourced.
In my job, I get to deal with gobbledygook like this every day. On more than one occasion, I've actually had to request people to go letter-by-letter, because I couldn't understand the words. But the VPs at my company are raking in the big $$ because of all the jobs (AKA my former co-workers) that were cut and shipped out.
And as long as all the VPs get their bonus, that's all that really matters
