like take the headlight apart and paint the chrome part of it thats screwed in black.
kinda hard to explain but if you see honda Fits. the headlights come painted on the inside from factory. thats basically what your doing.

If you're going to paint the insides of the headlights, make sure you don't paint the areas behind the bulbs. Those help to disperse light forward via reflection. If you paint those areas, you'll lose some light output.

The way around this is to install a true HID set, with the proper diffusers and all. Then you could paint the whole inside of the headlight casing. Of course, installing aftermarket HID's has it's own particular set of legal and physical issues.

i wouldn't mess with the headlights unless you want to worry about condensation....if you are looking for intake ideas, i know i have quite a few floating around on the forum.

You don't want to paint the whole inside of the headlight. You have to bake them in the oven and pull them apart. The inside chrome is 2 pieces, you want to paint the the outer piece that is nearest the outer lense. It all comes apart fairly easy. I improved upon a previous DIY write-up and added some pics if you'd like to have a look with all the details you would need. Mine is an 09', but the same procedure applies to all model Aveos.

Sounds like it rains/snows quite a bit where you're at, so I would suggest RAI over CAI to avoid a chance of getting water in the intake. My buddy ruined one of his cars like that. not very fun to fix.
As for the headlights - if I would have a black aveo - I would definitely get the same lights I have on the silver one. They would match even better on yours. and I would do 20% tint all the way around. Visibility from the inside is the same, but a bit harder to see inside. And welcome.

i know i should have tinted the back darker like 20%. in ohio though you can't have darker than 50% on the driver and passenger window. i just got 35% all around so it would match, and so far no police stops from it yet (knock on wood.)

and were did you get your lights from and how much if you don't mind telling were they.

Oh wow, strict laws... it's no darker than 35% tint for us, but I went just a little darker (20% all the way around), which is still a little bit see through from the outside but gives me quite a bit of privacy and the visibility is good from the inside.

And the lights I got on eBay. 185 shipped for the headlights and I believe around 125 for the tail lights.
