I'm assuming this means it actually doesn't shorten the throw... am I correct? I'm pretty new to understanding these things, so forgive my inexperience. I understand the idea of a shifter linkage firming up the feel and making it a more solid feel overall. But my understanding is that a new linkage will improve the feel because it has newer bushings and will eliminate sloppiness either from a poorly designed original linkage or from a worn out old linkage.

In my case, my aveo only has about 3500 miles on it. What sort of changes would I notice with this shift linkage? In other words, would this be an improvement over the linkage when it was brand new? Also, how difficult with the installation be?

I'm interested in Kinky's shifter, so if the new linkage will also help, consider me quite interested. Again, sorry if these questions seem quite amateur.

It does shorten the flow, just in it's own sense. With a replacement short throw SHIFTER, the pivot ball is located lower down the shaft, making the shifter have less movement to snap into place. Essentially it pulls the linkage back a little so it pops in and out of gear quicker.

With the short throw LINKAGE, you are replacing the link between the shifter and the transmission. With this, the balls that connect to the shifter and transmission are closer together, giving a better response to the shift.

Separate, each have their own characteristics to make the throw quicker and easier, but together they give a dramatic response...

I am not sure what percentage difference the throw is between this and stock. Will email the company and find out, since their website is in Korean, I cannot translate very well... LOL...

i would suggest that everyone that has a manual jump on this even if you cant get the shortshifter kit because this is a unique oppertunity to get a very useful part....heck you could always get this now and wait to put it on when you get the shortshifter or just put this on now and install the other later. heck if i didnt have an auto id be jumping on this part lol

about $120 shipped from vtuning to the east coast. $75 is one hell of a deal.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall. Torque is how far the wall moves after you hit it.

We are going to work with B&M to get the price lowered on their Opel shifter, and then we might be able to get them done together...
