    Thread: Just installed H&R springs

      its a floating suspension, so the metal cap on top of the strut tower does not tighten down tight, but it should not have a huge gap either. It sounds like the strut mount is worn, and was accentuated by installing lowering springs.

      I did some research and found out that I am not the only one having the big gap problem. Could it be just the struts are not designed for lowering springs?

      that picture is not that great, but acceptable gap should be less than 1/4" not sure where you are at..
      any more than 1/4" then its worn, i would replace them if you have more than 3/8" or 1/2" if your cheap wait till the last second.

      the cap does not tighten down to the car.

      NICE! How much of a drop were those springs?? Im looking to go for a 2" drop
      & if you have a link to the springs that'd be helpful!
