Yes as far as the 2006 Aveos go it can be done without going under the hood....I dont know about the 2008 Aveo sedans though, they might have a different wiring setup. But I'd bet my bottom dollar...

no the light will not come on because there is no bulb in there for the light to turn on

um, if it doesnt go one way then it goes the other way....u can only mix them up 2 ways.....the car will not accerlerate faster when you press the pedal past half.

no it doesnt, but in the case of the original wires it does....

its pretty easy, just dont mix up the 2 wires coming out of the little junction box thingy, or your car will run like ****
