      The rough road sensor prevents the ECM from triggering a misfire code when the road is rough. It would not cause a misfire if it was bad. I doubt it would prevent the engine from operating in closed...

      I'd put a new timing belt and tensioner on just for the added protection. At the next change, I'd replace the water pump too.

      I wouldn't tow anything with that thing (homemade hitch). If anything happens, you could be in some serious trouble. Have fun rebuilding.
