Removing Door Handles

Hey folks!


I Plasti Dipped my door handles, but messed up a lil in the process. I was wondering if there is a way of taking off the door handles without taking off (Or it seems as if i'd have to) the whole door. I took off the door panel with ease and removed the bolts that were holding the handles together but when i tried to pry it off, it would not bulge and I did not want to break anything so I put everything back together. Upon leaving my car, I noticed that my lock to the door was out of place, which led me to believe that if my lock is out I could possibly pry it out. I was too lazy to take everything apart again for the day, but I wanted to know if my hypothesis was right?

you probably forgot to disengage the Lock and handle actuating rods. they are held in place by small plastic keepers.
