      door handles

I removed the side from the door and I painted it black and am trying to place it back, but the door handle will not fit back in place? am I missing something? It has the 2 hook-type pieces that will not slide back in right. Thanks in advance.

sorry if this post already exists, if it does I couldn't find it.

Interior or exterior door handle? Pictures of the issue?

These things would help us to better help you.

sorry about the pix being so big...

I can't get a picture of the actual misplacement of the handle because its behind the actual side panel. but its about 3-5 mm too far forward.

There is a little ring around the handle itself, take it off, carefull not to break it, put the handle assembly in place before putting the door panel. Install door panel over the handle then put back the little ring and snap it in place
