Smile 2017 Chevrolet Aveo5 Hatch tow bar

Hi all. I live in Western Australia and recently bought a Holden Barina hatch 2017.
After researching I now find there is no tow bar available for these cars under Australia legal standards. The Holden dealer told me to try all over Australia to see if someone would make me a tow bar but no luck.
I know the same vehicle in thecUS is a Chevrolet Aveo and there definately is a tow bar for those 2017 models.
My question now is.. If I had one shipped to Australia would it fit my car which is identicle to the Chevrolet Aveo. Although it may not meet Australia compliance standards Inwould still consider having it fone if it fitted.
All I want to tow is a small trailer carrying my kayak diwn to the ocean.
Hoping to hear from someone and thank you.

Hi Roo22, I am in Perth WA and have a Barina with a towbar and wiring, all done with the assistance of my local Holden Dealer. However, I had to do the leg work in getting it all here.

You are welcome to come and have a look.

Check out my "Garage" page for the suppliers and part numbers I used.
You may find your car is now called a Sonic in the US.

      cheers George
