Rough running/idle with AC running only

Removed battery when I changed the radiator and valve cover gasket. Ever since the car runs and idles rough only when AC is on. Turn the AC off, thing runs like a champ. Push the AC button and it's back to rough idle. I cleaned the throttle body thinking that could be it. Had to clean off a couple of the spark plugs that with the failed valve cover gasket had been covered with oil. This all seems like it began with the battery being pulled out. Any ideas as to what could be causing this?

      Try this:

Idle Air Control Valve Reset Procedure

Whenever the battery cable or the Engine Control Module (ECM) connector or the ECM fuse EF22 is disconnected or replaced, the following idle learn procedure must be performed:
Turn the ignition ON for 5 seconds.
Turn the ignition OFF for 10 seconds.
Turn the ignition ON for 5 seconds.
      Start the engine in park/neutral.
Allow the engine to run until the engine coolant is above 185°F (85°C).
Turn the A/C ON for 10 seconds, if equipped.
Turn the A/C OFF for 10 seconds, if equipped.
If the vehicle is equipped with an automatic transaxle, apply the parking brake. While pressing the brake pedal, place the transaxle in D (drive).
Turn the A/C ON for 10 seconds, if equipped.
Turn the A/C OFF for 10 seconds, if equipped.
Turn the ignition OFF. The idle learn procedure is complete.

IF that doesn't work, I'd look for vacuum leaks next. (Maybe you cracked an old line, while putting things back together?)

That is some seriously good advice there from poison ivy. Let us know if that procedure worked or not.

If you have not replaced the valve cover gasket I would with new spark plugs. check the condition of your wires, they might need replacement too.

yeah the valve cover is a PITA and it's fails more often than it should
Please do not power off, firmware update pending.....

Thank you for the advice! Sorry for the late reply, had work and school. I'll give it a shot tomorrow when I'm home. Thanks again!
