      Remote door lock not working

Our 2006 Aveo has remote locks, which recently stopped working. We took the door panels off yesterday and validated that the key fob is working, power is getting to the lock mechanism, and seems to be energizing the actuator.

Should we just replace the actuators ?
Or is there something else we could do ?
What should be replaced and where can we get parts ?

Thanks for the posts on door panels - was a great help in getting ours taken off without breaking anything !
Got the window crank clip off using the paper clip trick, and of course it sprang into the air, bounced around a couple times, and disappeared. Finally showed up in the cubby under the handle, like it knew where to go

Chuck, if you are getting the intermittent function where the doors unlock but won't lock, or the reverse, you can try cleaning the connectors at the BCM (small black box under the center console cover) as I have had success just cleaning them. Could be a door switch not making contact as well. If the doors just wont work at all, usually a fuse is at fault.

      Thanks for the tips !

I'll report back on what we do for a solution, as I see that a number of other threads have been posted on this issue without any clear resolution.

this could be a ground issue. Electricity flows backwards. The energy is to drive stuff (current) is from the negative side of the battery. The plus side is like opening the gate (contact side or switch side). So I would carefully go over the ground with a multimeter by checking ohms from the motor to the car frame (not the door frame).

Please do not power off, firmware update pending.....
