The good news is it looks like the employment picture in the US has (maybe) just started to turn around:

And yet, I just got told by Pennsylvania Labor and Industry Bureau of Unemployment Compensation that ~26,000 new claims (not extensions, actual initial claims) have been filed in the last few weeks. (up to 13 weeks... they won't give any better range, since I'm not the news.)Quote:

I could really care less about what big business supposes is a recession. It's a well known sentiment that the largest portion of wealth is controlled by the smallest portion of population, and as such, the term "recession" is subject to the whims of those buried in wealth.
Afterall, if they won't give up the cash flow, how are we supposed to earn it?
I'm up there in the black northwest with over 10% unemployment... Just joined those ranks a few months ago.
