ok, i was curious and searched 2017 chevy aveo and GM mexico's website popped up showing what looked like a 2009 sedan, are they still making the second gen t200 in mexico?

Technically that would be the T250. It's actually very common, outside North America, to sell the previous generation as a bare bones entry level model.
