      Directly from Google...

The code means than your car can't send messages between the ECM (engine control module) and the PCM (powertrain control module).

      Possible causes:

      • Low battery
      • CAN C bus wiring fault
      • Wiring harness short
      • TIPM/BCM short
      • PCM power or ground

The U0100 code indicates a communication issue with the electronic control module (ECM) and the transmission control module (TCM) in your 2011 Aveo LT. This can cause the car to go into limp mode, which would explain why the car is barely moving. In limp mode, the transmission will stay in a fixed gear and the engine power may be reduced.
Here are some possible causes of the U0100 code:
      Wiring issues
      Failed TCM or ECM
      Failed sensors
      Failed battery or alternator
