      Service Manuals

My gfs, grammas, brother-passed away recently. We are sorting thru his estate and to say that this guy was a packrat is an understatement. We couldnt even open up some of the bedroom doors more than a third of the way-no joke. So anywho, they wanted to throw away some books and I said I will take those. I acquired some old service manuals for cars like Camaros, VWs, Fords, and others. I means these manuals are easily 35 y.o. and have original teardown procedures and what not. These manuals are in near perfect condition-again not a joke. I will post some pics in the next few days as right now I am pretty frickin tired from being over there all day helping out. Its not cool because theres only one AC in this 2 story house and to turn on fans just kicks up all the dust and makes it hard to breathe.
Anyone have any idea what they may be worth? Thinking about putting them on Ebay. If I dont respond for a few days, dont take offense, I will be around.

I'm sorry for your families loss Mike. If they are old Chilton's 70's model repair manuals in good condition they could go between 30 and 50 bucks a piece to the right buyer. A lot of more specific manuals like Authentic Briggs and Straton manuals or Mazerati, they may go for more to 75-100 varying upon condition.

      Re: Service Manuals

Yeh I got a few chiltons from 64 I found, an old 70s import car manual, and few more new goodies I found. Im just gonna toss em on ebay and see what happens. They are all mint, with all the pages.

Thanks for the thoughts, I barely knew the guy but the family was mostly happy that he died as he had cancer and was suffering til the end. I mean they were obviously sad dont take that last statemement as me/my gfs family being cold but they didnt want to see him in pain anymore. What Im sorry about is having to clean up this estate. To give you an idea of what we are up against, my gfs gramma ordered 2 12 cubic yard dumpsters and we filled both of them in 6 hours with garbage that was outside alone. A group of scrappers came over and probably walked away with over a 1000$ load of scrap metal in lawn mowers (ride and push), motors, snow blowers, electric motors, and random scrap. No joke.

So what you guys think, some have light damage, the worst is the Chilton import manual.
