      Interview Tips

So I have an interview on Monday to get $4/hr more than I make now plus $600 commission if I meet my sales goals each pay period, 50% gets me $60. This means a lot is going to happen to my Aveo.
      Any tips?
      I have:
#Don't tell sob storys about previous employers
      #Stay positive and confident
      #Ask questions
      #Site up and smile
#If you cough use your less dominate hand, cross your leg and wipe on your sock

sales is all about attitude and personality. If you can "get on the same level" as the person interviewing him, you'll be set.

Try to make the interview more of a conversation, rather than an interview.

Don't let him/her take control of the interview, but be subtle. If they sense that you're "dodging" them, they'll be pissed.

As a salesperson you need a strong personality and have the ability to manipulate people without them thinking that you're doing so. Convince him that he absolutely has to hire you. Just like you would convince a potential customer that they absolute have to have your product/service.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall. Torque is how far the wall moves after you hit it.

Also find out what you can about the company. The worst answer to "what do you know about X Incorportate" is "I don't know".

Expect all the personal type questions.

Why do you feel you're the right person for this job?
If I had three friends or family members with me now, what words do you think they would use to describe you?
Describe yourself using 1 syllable words. (calm, easy,etc...)
What is the achievement that you are most proud of?
If you don't make your sales quota how do you fell? what do you do about it?(go postal?)
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
      What motivates you?
What are 3 things that you need to improve on?

If I think of more I'll edit my post.

HR interviewers look for STAR answers. They ask you a question like "has such and such every happened to you". You could give the one-word answer "yes", but to rate well, they look for you to describe the Situation or Task, the Action you took and the Result (STAR) all without being prompted or asked for each part of the response. If you can do that to every question, you'll fly by HR.
