Too much! Can't recall it's been years... Less than most people since I did everything myself, but it's still a significant investment if you want a 2.0L turbocharged, it's not even worth it imo cost vs what you get. It was a nice project for me but I've moved on to better things. I do miss it tho it was a blast to drive a boosted Aveo lol!

It runs, very poorly but it will fire up. After the oil return line failure the engine ran without oil for a few minutes and it damaged the piston rings at the very least, 2 of the 4 cylinders have low compression (under 100 psi) while the other 2 are at 180 psi. So it would need a new set of rings and whatever else is damaged...

I don't really have any intention of working on it to be honest, lost too much money on it and it always gave me problems in the end. That intention is pushed even further away now that I have the Mazdaspeed which is FAR easier to modify and work on.

I've learned pretty much everything there is to know about the engine and how to tune it, I currently have my own tune on stage 1 parts (basically full intake and fuel pump upgrade) and it's pushing out around 260 whp. It took a while to get it running at that power level while I learned how to tune it, but it's been alot more gratifying to see the end product.

Next year comes a turbo back and front mount intercooler which should open up the path to the near 300 whp mark, then a GT3071R big turbo upgrade, my goal is 370-380 whp daily driven, which is done easily with full bolt ons and a 3071R... Thing's gonna be a monster lol

Glad to see you have moved on. The aveo was a beast I remember watching your videos hoping mine could be that fast one day but its just a fast aveo. Are you on another forum id like to get a glimpse of the new project. I saw it when you bought it but nothing since. good luck and have fun with it.

I'm on Mazdaspeed Forums but I mostly use it for information and such I don't really have a build thread anywhere.

But here's a picture of it with the Aveo

I don't have that much done to it since I've only had it for 6 months but here's what's been done to it so far:

      Exterior:
      - Enkei EKM3 18" Wheels
      - Corksport Front License Plate Relocation Kit
      - Corksport LED DRL Bulbs
      - Corksport LED Foglight Bulbs

      Performance / Engine:
      - Cobb Accessport
      - SURE Motorsports Short Ram Intake
      - SURE Motorsports Turbo Inlet Pipe
      - SURE Motorsports Top Mount Intercooler Charge Tubes
      - Turbosmart Dual Port BOV
      - Autotech HPFP (High Pressure Fuel Pump) Internals
      - JBR EGR Delete
      - Corksport Transmission Mount Insert
      - JBR Chrome Moly 88 RMM
      - Denso ITV22 Iridium Spark Plugs (1 step colder)

      Interior:
      - Corksport Aluminium Shifter Bushings
      - Prosport Halo Boost Gauge

That thing looks really nice. You gonna lower it any? I see what your talking about with the front mount, Ive never been a fan of top mount and it will give you more room to work with. The beast in the back, any plans for it? I know a few guys on here that would love that setup. You could sell it and pay for the rest of your current project. Just an idea hate to see that art go to waste brotha. Thanks for the new backround

I don't know what I'm doing with the Aveo, it's been sitting there for almost 2 years. I sold a few things off it, but there aren't alot of buyers around here and shipping parts isn't my forte. Probly gonna sell the sound system and wheels to a local guy, remove the rest of the turbo and try to sell it off. Rest of the car is gonna go to scrap, I've done too much to it for it to pass safety inspections here so it wouldn't be road legal without alot of work, which comes down to why not just buy another car for less money lol

Congrats on the mazda - yes they make more than just rotary. I had an old protege BG chassis with a GTR swap and loved it. Good luck with 380ishthat on a daily driver that will be wild
