      Gasoline Strike

I, Akilli89, am going to walmart to buy a cheap mongoose bike because I cannot afford the gas price of $3.75 a gallon. It has shown NO evidence of ever returning to under $3.50 a gallon so in a desperate effort am going on a gas strike!

I invite anyone and everyone on this journey and if you don't like this idea, I don't care. I need to save money. Go ahead and laugh at me, call me poor, call me stupid and call this little cause useless but I simply cannot afford $150 a month in gas.

I still plan on regularly posting in the forums, just saving money. Enjoy replying and just remember, its an internet forums site so if you feel the need to insult me, or anyone else. I merely pity you.

You can not commit crimes in a Aveo. Its just not fast enough.

      Re: Gasoline Strike

I'm about 20 miles from work, if I was closer and it wasn't all freeway, I would sport a scooter. Something that looks like a Yamaha Zuma, but without the $2500 price. An $850 Chinese knockoff most likely. No registration, 80mpg and price of 4 Aveo payments.

Being able to walk or pedal to work would be even better. Help stay in shape and better on the pocketbook

I applaud your efforts to reduce your gasoline consumption. The price of oil will only come down when the basic laws of supply and demand level off. It would only take about a 3% decrease in U.S. demand to drop the price of oil below $100/barrel reducing gas prices to around $3 again.

      Re: Gasoline Strike

Purchasing my Aveo was how I reduced my gasoline consumption. I do not have the luxury of being able to bike to work, but I drove a Toyota Tundra that got 16 MPG. Now I drive the Aveo mostly which gets 32 MPG, reducing my consumption by 50%. Man I wish my gas bill was only 150 per month. It's more like 300 + .

      Re: Gasoline Strike

      ok... update!!

Work is just under 7 miles away and there is no safe way to ride there on a bike since it is all highway... I did once and I was very, very tired. Keep in mind I work in the warehouse and need all the energy I can get to lift all the crap around, unload trucks etc. I will just have to severely limit my driving strictly to and from work, and make any trips, before or after work on the same trip. So all I can do is limit the driving and not accelerate rapidly as I used to, I've done that now for 2 days and I can't stand it! I need to go FAST!!

When I move into my apartment though, which is closer to stores and more in the city than where I am now (bum ****ed egypt) the bike will come in handy a lot more! basically I wont have to drive to the local 7-Eleven I can hop on my bike.
