Yeah I cracked open 3 different brands to Lantern Batteries to try to find an answer to that myth. They all had batteries in them, but they werent AAs, they were 4 batteries that looked like an long C

The solar energy still needs to be stored somewhere, LIVE solar energy wouldn't be stable with the voltage or amperage. So there must be batteries of some sort, its just how those batteries get charged that is Solar powered.

Would be cool if you could replace and alternator in a car with a solar panel roof skin though, wouldn't it??
