Re: Broke my Iphone 3G Screen
I gots the palm pre plus and I love it. I hear horror stories about people havving problems with them, but I have not had any issues. I also like having a phone that can generate it's own wifi. My understanding is that the Droid can too. My only complaint is that when I use my fone and have like 6 or more programs running, it gets hot. But it's rare when I am using a ton of apps at once, so, we is all good.
Re: Broke my Iphone 3G Screen
i want to get an iphone 4, but it looks like the upgrade will run 399 for the 16gb since im still a little over a year out, but the money i get for selling my broken jailbroke 3G should cut that in half
I fixed the screen, but the screen does not want to go back in right(not really a problem) and the digi pad has a dead line on the right side, but it still works good and all, i might just end up keeping for the other 14 months or so

To the price quote that you have there, hunter, here's steve jobs' answer...

11:42AM "So what's our lineup look like? 3GS is now $99. These go on sale June 24th."
11:41AM "AT&T is going to make an incredibly generous upgrade offer. If your contract expires at any time in 2010, you can upgrade to the iPhone 4. You can get it up to six months early."

Re: Broke my Iphone 3G Screen
yeh, some generous offer, meanwhile their entire network is being taxed hard by all the people with iphones and ipads and their response? No more unlimited data every month starting soon and is immediate for any new att customers. So **** the customers instead of investing in upgrading their current system or expanding it. **** you att, **** you. They always pullin some ****, that's why we left them.
Re: Broke my Iphone 3G Screen
What you just said won't be said publicly like this "generous offer" until a whole bunch of people re-up their contracts to get iPhone 4, and then it will be too late...
It's kind of like the Army when a few years back they said "oh, hey, get in for ONLY 2 years and get all the college benefits you need!!!" They never advertised "Stop-Loss" practiced and they never told you until you're in bootcamp that every initial military contract signed in U.S. military is 8 years long... if it's 2 years active - then you got 6 more inactive when they can re-activate you if they need you. And it's not until after the 6 months mark that you find out from your fellow servicemen that there's such thing as "failure to adapt" where they could let you out of service withing a certain time (3 or 6 months or so) without any strings attached because you... well, "failed to adapt" to the military service.
So yeah, it's nothing personal for Steve Jobs, just business.
Re: Broke my Iphone 3G Screen
i hate steve jobs :D
good thing i get to keep my unlimted data plan
Re: Broke my Iphone 3G Screen
truth. Almost went navy myself. Didn't get passed MEPS.
I'm not raggin apple, just att. They can take their contracts and shove them up their pooper holes.
Re: Broke my Iphone 3G Screen
On a side note, in Europe T-Mobile has iPhone. Not AT&T (at least not exclusively).
Re: Broke my Iphone 3G Screen
or just unlock one here, i can use other providers on mine
if i can get the phone for $399, i will sell mine if anyone is interested, maybe $170
Re: Broke my Iphone 3G Screen
The only problem with unlocked phones is that it can't use all the features... like unlocked iPhone on T-Mobile couldn't send picture messages or use their 3G networks. What's the point of having a nice phone when you can't use all the features?
That's why i'm sticking with my Nexus One, I'm pretty happy with it.
