thanks................ do the valves always bend when the timing belt breaks and dose it damage the head in any way
Yes, you will ALWAYS have atleast 2 bent valves... that's the nature of interference engines.Originally Posted by punkin
You'll have to look at the head specifically for damage. Sometimes, it will... sometimes it won't... be sure and look at the pistons for damage as well...
thanks
Furthermore, the members of the Daewoo community have been yelling for years that 35,000 miles is the time to change the belt... they do not survive that long.
And whatever mechanic/shop wants 1000 dollars for a head swap is ripping you off worse than Chevy could ever imagine.
New Lanos head - 400
Lanos intake - 50
Various parts - 200 (gaskets, head bolts)
Resale on old head components - 150+
Is the Lanos head better than the Aveo stock head?
Also, does the Lanos intake manifold bolt right up to the Aveo engine?
Lanos head bolts to the Aveo block, but Lanos intake manifold will not bolt to Aveo head, so it must be bolted to the Lanos head. As for if the Lanos head is better... i dont knowOriginally Posted by whiteraven
