Re: Putting the Aveo up for sale.

171$ a month (in canadian buks) for insurance, and im 26, good driving record. Reason is the car is too modified, ALOT of companies turned me down after they knew it was modified to this extent. I call the BS hammer but oh well.

I guess its better then the 453$ a month i was paying when i 1st got the car brand new 4.5 years ago. Yes thats right, 453$ PER MONTH on insurance on a brand new aveo. Imagine if i had gotten a sports car or something faster then this. Insurance companies are total wackos nowadays with young people. It sux that i gotta pay for ppl that do stupid ****.

Also looking for a 4 door GTI or a GLI package 2. Either way the car is going to be sold, I want more room and more fun.

Better to be upfront on things, than have an accident or theft and no coverage for the extra mods.

the only mod in florida that will do that is taking out the airbags

other than that you could do anything you want and not tell them, as they really are going to try to screw you regardless

Re: Putting the Aveo up for sale.

yeah, but here is an extreme case:

you buy a v6 camaro, register it, get it insured. then swap in a V8. If it is still registered and insured as a v6 and you cause an accident, say speeding through an intersection, killing someone that thought they could pull out but you were going to fast..

the fact that you changed the engine in the car and the added speed killed someone gives your insurance company the right to not cover the accident. Since you killed someone, not even going to criminal charges. They can then sue you for everything you could hope to have, if your parents paid for the car/ are also listed on your insurance for you young guys, then they can sue your parents for everything they have. In most states, if you don't have enough money, you can also go to jail.

So why not tell the insurance you swapped a v8 in it??

im not saying it let them know about every little bolt on, but some people are more careful.

Re: Putting the Aveo up for sale.

ahhh thats why i like a no fault state

the insurance company is not on your side, and they dont want to pay, and if they pulled that **** on me i would sue them

but when i wrecked my aveo, gieco had no problem paying out the 7k to fix it, even though it was modded, they even boguht the same non factory non oem rim and tire

plus i dont speed through red lights or run them for that matter, or drink so less to worry about for me ( and if someone wrecked into me and messed my car up, i would go to jail anyways after i mess them up)
