What the heck is this part?

Hi all,
2007 Aveo LT sedan

I have tried looking at everything I can on this car to correct our HVAC and airbag issues.

I located this part tha is broken. The coil the one wire is connected to is rusted apart from the rest of the unit. What is this part called and does it affect any of my issues on this car?

The part is connected to the drivers inner fender in the engine compartment. It has two wires connected to it. (see pics)

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this the ceramic resistor for the Engine Cooling Fan? I'm almost positive that it's a resistor for something...?

you are 110% Correct; that is the resistor for the Cooling fan; it might be one of the parts causing the OP's HVAC issues.

Awesome! Hopefully replacing that solves his issue. :D
