Re: We need a DIY A/C install! AC

Ok I just got done installing the A/C kit (GM PART # 96992824) on my 09. The car already had the C66 option. Not to bad to install, but the big "got you" was that I still had to take the car to a shop that had a Tech 2 scanner to enable the A/C. I found an independent shop to enable it for me, but it cost me $65 + tax. I have all of the part numbers for the parts that were in the kit and the directions (all pictures, no wording). If anyone is interested let me know.

Post the part numbers in here. Will save you the time so you don't have to copy/paste every time someone PMs you about it and saves us the time from looking for it.

Just gotta keep in mind that the p/n's will most likely be different for the first and second generations of cars/engines.

the compressors, belt. front two a/c lines, climate control, and compressor mounting bolts are definitely different.

The main line that goes to the firewall seems to be the same. condenser seems the same, the expansion valve on the firewall is the same, not sure about the evaporator, or inside the car.

      Parts:

      Compressr - 95953032
      Pressure switch - 96448991
      Relay - 96590287
      Belt - 96476110
      Line 1 - 94831199
      Line 2 - 96940408
      Line 3 - 96802198
      Inside controls - 96650500

Also some nuts, bolts, and 10A fuse
I have a picture of the nuts and bolts that I can e-mail. Not sure how to post pictures.

I charged the system myself. I found a 18oz can of 134a. This was the perfect amount. The shop manual calls for 18oz +- 1 oz. The sticker that was in the kit called for 17.5 oz.
I had to take it to the shop just to have then go into the cars CPU and enable the A/C. It took them 5 min with the flow chart I provided, so $65 was plenty of money.
