About the same angle as in your photos. It doesn't really fit till its turned about right, you will be able to feel it. Ther you have about 20 degrees of adjustment to tighten the belt.Attachment 8412
Mine goes in and spins nicely 360. There isn't one good position. Looking at the old bolt marks on the old one isn't really too helpful. I wish that pic was higher res. hard to tell on that drawing.
