Third brake light removal

Hi guys. New member here. I recently acquired a 2005 Aveo Hatchback. I'm looking into tinting the windows. I was looking at the third brake light and thought I probably ought to remove it while applying window film. I cant figure out how to do it. I searched to forum to no avail. There are two Phillips screw holding brackets to the hatchback frame, but I cant get at them. There seems to be two plastic clips, but they dont seem to do anything. Can someone clue me in? Is it in the Owners manual?
