Re: Removing rear light
What gen is your Aveo? If its the first gen, after you take the screws out, just (carefully) pull it straight out. There are two tabs that hold it in, but they do break some what easily so be careful

Re: Removing rear light
+ 1 on not breaking the tabs, i broke one of mine (was changing them out anyways :? )

Re: Removing rear light
Thks for reply ,it is a 2006 aveo and it seems to come out but looks like if I pull too hard I'll break something? Thks

Re: Removing rear light
Well theoretically it should pop out. But if you twist it to one side or the other it will break. I've done it twice #-o

Re: Removing rear light
Doesn't want to pop out looks like 2 notches are stuck or well in there. Thks

Re: Removing rear light
Like they said... pull straight back relative to the car... They shouldn't break if you don't twist or turn the light anywhere..

I'm trying to replace a rear turn signal on my '04 Aveo and can't get the lamp assembly off. Removed the two screws and tried pulling straight back, but it doesn't budge. Then I tried prying it at either end with a screwdriver and that didn't help either, and scratched the paint. Is more elbow grease the answer?

try whacking it with your hand along side the car (pulling back from 1/4 at like a 45* angle) while pulling on the inside of the light.
it has to go out straight. to if you twist the light it will lock tighter and break things.
