Need Help 2006 Aveo

Hi,

I am new to the group, and I really need some help I have a 2006 Aveo LS. Today I left my dog in the car for a total of 10 mins. IN that time he distorted the gear shift nob he just got the knob the stick it self is OK. I looked under the knob, and there is a sliver part that comes loose. However I still can not get the knob it self to move at all. Does it come off? How do I get it off? Is this something i can fix on my own? or going to spend the money to take it to the dealer? Please if anyone can help me. Please send me a message.

You can get it off you just need a heat gun and a good set of channel locks. Good luck
