Can anyone, if it was possible, tell me how to remove the top of the manual stick, i want to change it out, now i read on here a while back that you have to put the stick in boiling water but i dont want to damage the joint between the stick and the tranny. so tell me is it possible?

i have an auto, but i believe there are one or two really little screws in the side facing the dash, with those removed you just have to yank it off
