welp i figured it out. had to take off the bumper. pretty easy though.

Did you make use of the new bumper removal DIY, or just figure it out yourself?
I just figured it out. You can see which screws need to be taken out from underneath the hood to remove the bumper. Jacked up the front of the car to give me a little more room underneath.
