How to Remove the Front Bumper from a 2007-2011 Aveo Sedan

Hello to all those in Aveo Land! Today, I'm going to show you how to Remove the Front Bumper of your 2007-2011 Aveo Sedans.

Step 1: Remove the Headlights by removing the 3 10MM bolts holding them in place, then unplug the Electrical connections.

      Left Headlight

      Right Headlight

Step 2: Remove the 4 Clips holding the Grille to the Upper Core Support

Step 3: Remove the 3 7mm Screws that Secure the Left hand Wheel Well Liner to the Bumper

Step 4: Remove the 3 7mm Screws that Secure the Right Hand Wheel Well Liner to the Bumper

Step 5: Remove the 2 7mm Screws that secure the Bumper to the Left Front Fender

(NOTE: This 7mm Screw is why the headlights have to be removed)

Step 6: Remove the 2 7mm screws that secure the bumper to the Right Front Fender

Step 7: Remove the 4 14mm Nuts that Secure the Bumper Iron to the Front Core Support

      Right Side

      Left Side

Step 8: grasp the Front Bumper in the Bottom Corners of the Headlight Openings towards the Grille, and Pull Straight out; You SHOULD be left with the Image Featured Below (NOTE:cars that have been equipped with Fog Lamps, Disconnect the Fog Lamp Wiring before removing the Bumper, to prevent Damage to the Wiring Harness)

now you are free to do any Maintenance to the A/C System, Add Lighting, or make Repairs to the Bumper Cover itself! Installation is Reverse of Removal.

Great How-to! Thanks! I've thought about adding fog lights, so this will be perfect.

I want to add fog lights as well, but I'm waiting for my cash reserves to be a little more plentiful before I take that plunge.

This is almost identical for the hatch. Sure, the parts look different, but the pieces and even locations are even similar.

That's easier than the 2004-2007 models. There is more crap under the bottom. Nice pictures and I love the finger pointing!
Please do not power off, firmware update pending.....

I tried to be as informative as I could, because I didn't want anybody who followed my how to, to accidentally damage something on their car because I might have missed a step.

Thank for the info. This is helpful.
Couple of questions: does the plastic bumper cover and bumper have to come off in one piece?
Anyway to get plastic bumper cover off on its own?
      thanks
