Not sure if this has been posted, but here is a guide on how to inspect and change transmission fluid in manual transmission.
Recommended Fluid - SAE 75W-85 GL-4 Manual Transmission Fluid. This guide says SAE 75W90 but I use the recommended fluid.
#1 is drain plug
#2 is inspection plug

I'm still not 100% sure if I have the right two bolts though. The two that I am looking at on my car (2007) look like they bolt into the body of the chamber that I drain my motor oil from. Is this possible? I see that the transmission and the oil pan are adjacent, however, I didnt realize that the drain and fill plugs for the manual transmission fluid would bb that close to the oil pan.

From other threads, it sounds like I need to remove a "pan" at the bottom by removing 10 bolts. This allows me to drain.
I would then add by removing the 13mm bolt next to the axle boot.
Can anyone confirm this? (I have a 2007 manual.)

Yes thats correct - there is no drain plug. You'll need to use RTV to seal the pan when you're done - gaskets seem to be impossible to find for some reason.
I've wanted to try to add a drain plug however, using a kit like the one pictured below or a welded in bung. Not sure how much clearance there is between the pan and the differential though.

Does anyone know if the drain plug is a hex bolt....do I need to use an Allen wrench for the drain? All of the other bolts seem to be just for structure.

I've seen kits with both hex and allen hardware for the drain plug, personally I'd prefer standard hex hardware. At least then if you manage to strip it out you'd have something to put a vise grips on.
Thank you again. However, I was a little off in my question. My question is about the FILL plug, not the drain. Do you know if the fill plug might have a Allen head to it?
Is #1 the drain plug as referenced in the image? Will change the fluid in my 04 with 145,000 miles this spring using AMSOIL 75W-90 Manual Transmission & Transaxle Gear Lube. Have read conflicting info that some say the pan needs to be removed and some say drain through the drain plug. I suppose it depends on the year. Haven't looked yet but hopefully my 04 has a drain plug.
