Headlight Issues - Very Strange

This is a 2007 Aveo sedan. LT trim. Automatic. When in daylight running mode, the left headlight lights but the right does not. When I turn on the headlights, the right headlight lights up and the left does not. High beam works for both headlights whether I am in DRL mode or turn on the headlights. Any ideas of where to start? Thanks

Check the actual electrical harness/connectors for corrosion. Try swapping the bulbs and see if its the same result.

I replaced one connector that was burnt. Why do they burn like that? I will probably replace the other connector just because. Swapping bulbs does not change the issue. I have replaced the switch on the steering column (grasping at straws).

Would bypassing the wiring harness and running the ground from the headlights directly to the battery, cause a problem? Just to see if this is a ground issue.

Can't figure out why the one low beam (other side dark) switches sides from DRL to headlights.

Any and all trouble shooting techniques would be appreciated. I would replace the DRL module if I could find it. Is it possible that the DRL module is part of the fuse panel next to the driver in the passenger compartment?

I had a similar issue with my 2008 hatchback. The passenger side headlight was much dimmer in DRL and low beam modes. The plastic molding on the connector was burnt, the metal clip showed oxidation and felt a bit loose. The loose-fitting clip seems to have caused arcing that charred the molding. I removed the oxidation from the clip with a small wire brush and electrical contact cleaner, and then pinched the clip with a needle-nosed pliers to give it a tighter fit on the headlight terminal. Lastly, I wrapped the whole connector with a few layers of electrical tape to protect it. Headlight operates normally in all modes now. Problem solved.

This is going to sound odd, but try replacing the fuse under the hood in the fuse box. My 2005 g'night did the same thing. The fuse wasn't blown but corroded.

Problem(s) solved. I feel dumb, but after Housiertrucker recommended checking for corrosion, I went back and found a burnt fuse. Replaced it and the lights work okay. It was the 10A H/L LH fuse. What confused me was that even with the fuse blown, all the filaments lit up at various times, but not at all times when they should. If a filament lights up you would think that the fuse is okay. You learn new things every day. As part of this repair, I also replaced burnt connectors. Thanks for the help everyone. Iron1951
