Hi,
The anti-freeze in my 3yr old Aveo still looks good. No sign of sediment deposit or sludge is seen when I replace the water pump. I refilled the system with Dexcool, same as the original coolant. I heard that Dexcool is not good as compared to the green or yellow kinds. Should I flush the system and fill it with the green or yellow coolant? If so, do you know how I can do it properly? Thanks.
Dexcool is fine. Just run it as long as it says its good.
I use the green stuff. 50/50 mix and it runs just fine on my car.
I would run what ever the manufacture says you should. if your car is still under warranty and there's any issue with the engine it could fallback on you for not keeping the correct fluids. It happened to me with my previous car.
I used Amsoil. Supposed to last longer...
