Brake line / steel / cut & bend / fittings leak / double flare looks perfect

Hello Forum, Working with my son on his 05 Aveo, rear left brake cylinder blew out, drum is fine, everything else was toast. brake fluid destroyed back plate as well, new back plate, shoes, hardware, brake cylinder. Could not remove metal brake line from cylinder or from hose metal female connector without destroying metal brake line. That pre made line is no longer available from Chevi, Made our own out of metal line, double flare tool / looked perfect / double flare looks perfect. Totally leaks from fitting threads - both ends. Any thoughts ? The fittings seem correct, thread in fine, look similar to the old original (hard to tell for sure), brake line tightens right up. Not sure if steel line is the best, or if we have the exact fittings. Chevi is no help, Thanks in advance !

No surprise there.

You need to make bubble fittings instead of double flares.

Thank You Avguy ! You steered me in the right direction, I returned my double flare tool and bought a Bubble Flare (ISO) instead, also made sure I was using metric fittings M10 X 1.0 - all set. From 1995 on, most brake fittings went to metric fittings and the Bubble Flare. The threads on the 3/8-24 tube nuts look almost identical to the metric M10 X 1.0.
I found this Youtube video very helpful in explaining all of this. You led me in the right direction, Thanks again !
