Apple Cider Spill on Carpet!!!! How to clean? Remove carpet?

An entire gallon on apple cider spilled on the carpet behind the drivers seat. Is there anyway that the carpet can be pulled up without unbolting the seats? And does anyone have any suggestions for cleaning this mess so it does not mold or mildew....................boy the carpet in this 2006 model sure appear to be CHEAP. I have a 4 door 2006 Aveo model with a trunk and just the standard factory carpet....thank you all in advance.

I am not sure about removing the stain or fluid (maybe a steam cleaner or carpet vacuum).

Pulling the carpet is a lot of work, a lot on interior trim needs to be removed. The means the seats as well, both front and rear in fact. Just try to absorb as much liquid as possible and try to get some machine to help draw the rest out. Maybe even a shop vac.

A shop vac and lots of water to flush it out is what I'd do.

Then make sure to properly dry it, or it'll promote mildew/mold.

I don't know where you live, but if it's warm & dry, you might get away with just leaving all the windows open during the daytime for several days. It's too cool now during the day for that to work where I live, so a small heater or carefully placed hair dryer would have to be used. (Careful how it's positioned or your next post will be: how do I replaced the fire-gutted interior of my 2006 Aveo!

Just to add to what MetroMPG suggested. You may also be able to pull the trim at the bottom of the door sill (on the rear driver side door), and peel the carpet back in that area. I haven't tried it in an Aveo, so I'm not 100%. You may also have to pull the rear seat bottom off to access the carpet.

just a tip i learned from my pops.. for nasty stains like berry juice, blood, etc things organic that stain you can use hydrogen peroxide to remove them chemically.. might be worth dumping a bottle on it.. doesnt cost much
