Aveo 2006 5 slightly bent intake valves
took off the head today (2.5hrs with hand tools not bad). had most trouble reaching two of the intake bolts and with that bracket. (big hands).
what I found was what is caked all over the intake and on top of the pistons (see pic). hard carbon gunk . wtf.?
do I have the wrong plugs or need to use high octane fuel? whats the best way to clean this? I'm thinking having someone hold a vacuum in the piston while I gently scrape or brush it off so none gets in the sleeve.
how can I prevent this? only 80k miles.
what about copper plugs?
