      09 ignition switch confusion

      Since the car does the dredded intermittent starts when turning the key i am getting ready to replace ignition.

      now i looked online and there is an ignition switch called out and theres a seperate tumbler, really ?

      which do i need to change ? Also i have the keyless entry remote which is part of key, with no alarm so what do i do about those ?

      Wow, i am the only one that has or had an ignition issue.

      The ignition switch is just that, the switch... if your switch is bad then that is what you need... the Tumbler is the part the that allows the key to unlock and turn the switch... if the keyed portion works properly then you don't need that part.
      If it was me, I would make sure the female contacts going into the switch were very clean and shiny.
